The career I chose to research today is a graphic novel artist. For this job, you need to work with graphic novel/cartoon writers to convey a narrative compositionally and artistically. credentials are not necessary, but it is useful to have a degree in art. You want to at least aim for a bachelor's degree and helpful studies include graphic design, animation, or fine arts. Of course, a great option around this area is VCU, which is perfect for most art degrees. The best schools to go to would be RISD and MICA, which are great for this specific career. The average income of a graphic novel artist $49,625 a year. I am interested in this career because of my consumption of graphic novels and my interest in narrative storytelling through art. I was not really surprised by most of the stuff I found, a lot of the details are not specific to this career in art, but general to most art based careers.
